Affiliate Marketing : 7. Advanced Techniques

What I have described so far does not actually require you to have a website. When you promote a product on the Clickbank marketplace, you use your own affiliate link which would look like this:

http://yournick.vendornick.hop.clickbank.net

Where "yournick" is your Clickbank username, and "vendornick", is the merchant's Clickbank username.

When you start out in affiliate marketing, this is ideal, because it allows you to start making money straight away, provided you choose a quality product, with good marketing behind it.

All you have to do is to drive traffic.

However, between the point of acquiring traffic and sending this traffic to the merchant's sale page, there is another step that we can use that can greatly enhance the conversion rate. This is done by using an intermediate page where the visitor comes and is given further information, or a review regarding the product that they are potentially looking for. This is called "pre-selling".

The Use Of Review Websites to Pre-Sell

The best way you can increase your conversion ratio is by writing an endorsement for the product and placing it on your web site. By adding a review of all the related products, testimonials or other proof the product works. By displaying photos of the product. This is also called pre selling which will drasticy improve your conversion rate.

In order to pre sale you will need to have a landing page which you will send traffic to. A landing page is simply a web page that you will send vsitors to.

Even before you send clients on to make a purchase, you can help the process along by pre-selling. After all, you don't get paid if they don't buy, so why not put forth your strongest effort here? All you have to do is provide your site visitors with valuable copy that both informs and sales. I like to call this the sizzle and sale.

You see, you get the traffic, you provide them with some sizzling words and you prompt a sale. But how, you ask? It's all in the pre sales copy - something you just have to have on your landing page!

Let's back up for just a minute here and make sure you first understand WHY you need pre sales copy on your landing page. It all boils down to this:

• Pre Sales copy can be used to entice the reader by explaining all the exciting benefits they receive for buying the service or product you are promoting.
• Pre Sales copy provides you with the perfect opportunity to prove you are credible. You MUST have your visitor's trust and you can start earning it right here, within your pre sales copy. Build trust and establish your credibility by explaining how you are an expert on the products you are promoting.
• Use your pre sales copy to explain to your visitors the many reasons WHY they cannot live without what you are selling through your landing page
• And maximize your sales by giving them exact directions on how to proceed

What you will realise as you progress in your education here, is that the product or service is not the most essential part - it is the marketing.
