Using Classified Ad Sites

In this task, we are going to create a classified ad.

There are hundreds of decent classified ad sites and they are valuable tools for us, as online marketers. We can use them for traffic, often good quality traffic, and also as one element of our traffic generating strategies.

I want to illustrate with USFreeAds.Com. This site has a high trust ranking with Google, and is also an extremely popular site. You can write a classified ad on this site based around a certain keyword phrase and you can very easily get first page ranking on Google for that search term.

More importantly - as you will see later - we can use sites like these to create our own distributed link network consisting of entirely free resources, and use that to generate lots of free traffic from the search engines. But before we get to those strategies, I need you to have experience with the tools. At this stage I want you to learn the tools, or at least have an appreciation of them. Then after that, you will start learning the actual craft - which is the skilful and creative use of these tools to create your own nexus on the Internet, to be employed as a traffic generation and boosting tool.

This is the USFreeAds.Com site:

Click on the "advertise" link at the top, and from there click on "register for a new account".

From the next page, scroll all the way to the bottom and select "Free Membership".

You should see the registration page:

Just follow through with the registration process, selecting a suitable username and password. You will have to check your email and verify your registration - a password will be sent to your email address.

Next use the following steps - after logging in to your account:

• Select the "advertise" link at the top of the page, and from that page you need to select a category for your ad. I've chosen Real Estate because that's the category for the niche that I've chosen (Foreclosures). I then get subcategory list and I can see that Foreclosures is a category on its own, so I'm going to select that.

   

• Once I've selected my subcategory, the classified ad submission form appears:

  

  Now with the free service, you are only allowed to add a title and a description. What I've done is to take my press release content, and just used that - with just a few minor modifications. Its better to make modifications to the text so it is not too similar, but I am only illustrating the process here, so I am going to use the content for my press release. Here's what I've put in:

   

  With the free service - USFreeAds strips out any email or website addresses so we would not get active links in our classified ad - which is what we really want. However, as I said, I am only illustrating the process here.

  It only costs $10.00 for a Gold membership for an entire year. This allows you to post web addresses including affiliate links. That is definitely worth what you can actually do with this tool!

  But for now, just post your own ad on your own given topic (you should have chosen one based upon the previous tasks).

   

• I've posted my ad and it is now live. You can view it by clicking here (Please note classified ads are temporary and they expire - so you can resubmit an ad at any time) - My ad will have expired two weeks after adding it, so you may not see it.

  Now with a Gold account, I can put multiple links to my http://www.samyworldpress.com (or it could be a website) - using a variety of topic related keywords, such as "foreclosure investments", "real estate foreclosures" and so on. Using this technique, you can get a newly created website indexed within Google, literally within hours.
